no, its actually a strobe that gets the bullet. the exposure is rather long, but the flash fires continuously super super fast and then gets the bullet. i dont know how exactly it works, but thats the main gist

its the original one in Las Vegas, theres a video of that happening i think it was used in the earlier seasons like 2-4
