I agree. This is a terribly sad fact.

It's believed there are 10 - 100 million species on Earth today (pretty exact) and possibly 50 billion that have gone extinct in the past. I don't give a shit about that bear. Earth has been going into an ice-age since the last one ended, despite what Al Gore says.

We have been coming out of an ice age since the last one ended. Not going into one. The earth is getting warmer. Check your facts. Global warming occurs naturally, but since the human race seems to only care about their serving their own greed and vanity, we have ignorantly sped it up at an alarming rate. The U.S., despite it's population numbers, contributes more CO2 to the environment than any other country in the world by choice. Nobody wants to sacrifice anything from their vain lifestyle so as to not leave a self serving eco disaster for future generations. What are we going to pass on to our kids? Oh, I see that you are 19. I guess that probably isn't a concern for you yet. I know when I was 19, I didn't think about that either. Now that I have a son, I think about it everyday. I am not going to tell you that you should give a shit about that bear. You should probably give a shit about what this world is going to look like in the future though and what effect the environment will have on people. Mother nature will survive, but the earth, like the human body will do what it can to get rid of viruses that attack it, so that it will get healthy again. Humans have been on earth for a fraction of time, and there is pretty clear evidence that we have done a tremendous amount of damage in a very short time.

Think before you speak. I didn't misprint - going INTO is what I meant. I look at the evidence, you listen to the fact makers. Real science holds no indelible truths. Can you cite any good data to support you claim that we're warming the planet at "an alarming rate"? And for that matter, who's to define alarming? If the US contributed 50% (more than actual amount), that would only be .002% of the atmosphere. HOLY SHIT Batman! You needn't question my motives, nor my fears. I don't want to f*ck up the planet. I've invested years into an environmental engineering degree at Oregon State University to help prevent any problems. Maybe you've heard of it? You know, the school that pumps out tonnes of Earth minded engineers. I'm no expert, but my standing is far stronger than yours. I advise you to leave your misguided normative hippy follies in California, and opine from your own research.

P.S. I read some of your other comments. One doesn't invest in a master's degree to teach primary school - you don't fool me.

Dude, you don't know anything about my masters degree, or about teaching apparently. So it stands to reason that you probably have a pretty one sided point of view when you stand up on your misguided conservative soapbox and preach that we do nothing to contribute to global warming. Whatever dude. I lived in China for 2 years, and saw exactly what was happening in big cities there to contribute to poisoning the earth. I lived in the Philippines for long enough to watch the reefs die and bleach. I don't live in California. Good thing Oregon State taught you to read a map. Thats like saying you live in Washington. Nice one. That makes me really interested in what else you have to say.
