did that even make sense?

Its a nice crisp beautiful picture for sure but, is it really POD material. I mean any mountain biker could do that. What any mountain biker couldn't do is be rich enough or sponsored enough to bring the lighting and the amazing camera out into the woods like that.
I don't get why "jasmithy" received -6 Neg Props for saying...
Very nice picture!
very nice framing
very nice scenery
very nice lighting
= POD!!!!!

good quality photo, great scenery, and i'm sure the rider is fast... i'm just getting tired of the same remote style flash photos getting POD.
... here come the - props

jp, with all respect lad, its the only way some scenes can be lit, when its very dull and in the trees, thats why ive tried to show the misty scene, cheers.
lol i sound like a moron? lmao well take a look at your name bikep0rn! finding yourself funny haha prick!
I like the pic but the flash isn't in the perfect place despite what people keep saying. Having a big hot spot in a picture isn't a good thing, especially when you don't want people to focus on it. If you want people to focus on the rider, that should be where the point of greatest contrast is. If the flash were placed so it wasn't so obvious, this picture would be better.

i love the contrast of the rest of the forest to the section of trail and rider. that and it looks fast overall. Totally deserving of POD.
thats wicked pic it feels so natural because there is like no evidence of man-made things on the trail (except for the light)
How many POD's have you had Les? 10? 20 now? Your the legend of PB! Sweet shot of Ant. I hope he gets a podium this year.
cheers mike, it was such a good day, and i think all the guys deserve pod in my opinion, they are all so much better than when i was a lad!!

I think seeing the source of the flash ruins the sense of setting. I'm not opposed to the use of remote flash, but I don't want to see the photographer's gear in the shot. It ruins the mood.
Sorry, Les. You're a wicked shooter, but this shot's too "obvious".
Now bring on my neggies.

actually in this instance you are right, cos the track is natural, it would have been nicer to exclude the flash, and even give a stop or so of flash. cheers lad.
track is natural but the bike still isnt. im not a fan of artificial source of light either, but for me, it looks quite good in this case , espacially the light comes out from behind the bush, and it looks like time stopped when the rider jumped into the shaft...hmm
u got neg props cos its annoying when people point out the obvious. id say 99% of the pods on here are shopped because no matter how gd the photographer is u can nearly always improve the shot by cropping it, adjust contrast ect ect...
i agree bad pod good lighting theres a dam light by the tree boring Pod nothing special wat beter pics out there
yer i agree with mitchymaca it haz nothing special about the photo f*cking dick heads that pick them f*cken mods.but im sure there are alot more pics on pinkbike tht deserve to be pod but not this
im just saying its not particularly brilliant. i didnt look at it an go wow thats amazing an i dono about everyone else but i really hate it when you can see the flash in it because when you look at the photo thats the first thing you notice and not the rider. secondly the riding isnt really special, he may be an amzing rider but in the photo the rider isnt really doing anything notable or amazing which isnt helped by the odd choice of camera angle.
sorry its just my opinion some of your other shots are brilliant but this ones just not for me really.

Thats fine dude, respect. Your comments are justified and not just some guy kicking off just for a laugh. cheers, ps the camera angle was just held horizontally, its the land that is at an angle. Happy xmas.
i agree with jonahH1992 becaue yes its an awesome quality, colour, shadow and lighting but its all about the rider really this is a site for biking skills not photography if u no wat i mean
I think this is a pretty good shot. I agree with the natural framing of the photo, looks dope. POD fo sho.
i might catch crap for this bu twtf. i dont think that pics like this should be pod. it is a total photo shoot. to me a pod should be about the pic your friend took of you. not a pro shot with lights and all thta jazz. it just takes away from it.
This is a photo shoot, its simply a pic taken with external flash, which had to be used to freeze the rider, simple as! Also, we take pics to show the guys riding their bikes in the conditions and terrain they were intended for!
ps it wasnt a total photo shoot either, its about the bikes and riders, the photography is a record of the day by me cos i dont ride anymore.
Well i like it, and that wood looks lush, quality pic (Y) And u dont have to be a pro to own a flash lol

before this turns into an all out racist fight.....*newzeland dude, my previous comment still stands

God, how many bmxers on this site are going to criticise mtb related PODs - I suppose mitchymaca would have just built a spine over the tree or something......
he is jumping over a log in this pic yehh, agreed, but that is because i photographed him at this point, it is a downhill track. Also i dont see any pics of you doing anything in particular in your profile, so come on lad, act your age.
