yeah they used them at the last world champs(the one this pic was taken at) if you look at the picture of sam hill falling he has a skinsuit on
don't ever mention that crash again  it never happened, u just drempt that
everyone went mad about them, it was great. should never be used again!!!! only roadies should wear skin suits.
thank god for that, i never want to be told to dress up as a condom and race, might have to go bright red and die!! LOL
by the way, skinsuit ban is a bad thing. fair enough they look gay, but taking them away makes a mokery of the sport of dh.
nooo it just means DH doesnt become so over rated like F1 or something of that kind .. keeping the sport the way it should be
if you want downhill to become a big sport and to be funded by the government then you are going to have to welcome skinsuits back. look at any other sport that is a timed race against the clock, they wear tight clothing (skinsuits) because it makes you go faster. It the less matuture riders that base their hate on skinsuits them looking sh*t. But if they make you go faster (which they have been proven to do) then they should be incorperated in the sport.
yeah, fair enough, i phrased that badly. but personaly i think people who care about the sport should raise an issue. Also a massive problem with the rule is how tight is tight?
and could you ride down with no shirt on? its not tight clothing and it would give you the same advantage as a skinsuit, and is still within the rules...?!

yer but then u have to wear body armour ... so less airodynamics there haha
its all pretty pathetic i think and i understand about every other sport moving forward with tight clothing ... but DH is defo not like other sports... but its the UCI's decisions that stand ...

I think the reasons the UCI gave for the ban are pretty stupid. Supposedly its to protect the image of the sport because they dont look good. I dont get this, what is it, a fashion show or a race? Riders should be able to do whatever they can to go a fast as they can. (Not meaning drugs)
yep i agree with dingus too, even tho skin suits do look silly if the rider/team wants to wear them then they should be able to
i think i heard somewhere that they banned them because they didn't provide enough protection for the rider in a crash
That was a minor reason but style was the major concern. There was an interview with a UCI guy in Dirt n he said tht.
