how would the shock fit in those upper holes? lol. looks like you need a new spring. its a good size now too.

it dose when i ordiginaly built the bike up i had it in that set of holes thoguh there is litraly about 0.5 mm clearence between the shock and the top tube

This look's more like the owner over tightened the shock spring. Just look at the position of the spring adjuster and it look's almost twisted. He bottomed out the spring instead of the shock. And this is the result.

Your not supposed to tighten more than 2-3 rounds on the spring.

yes my day today was that intresting i spent it analising the break and other weird bits like that under a very powerfull micorscope counting the number of carbon atoms in th 2 sides of the break compared to the other side

rich you cannot see carbon atoms though your microscope
