has there ever even been a broken F5?
  • + 1
flag coralcorn (Feb 7, 2010 at 11:07)
nope.. they have like a .03% faliure rating
  • + 1
flag D-ponko (Feb 7, 2010 at 21:50)
 what does that really mean?
  • + 1
flag coralcorn (Feb 7, 2010 at 22:58)
supposedly only .3% of their frames have been brought back broken.. I snapped a derailer hanger it took them 5 weeks to send me a new one.. either its true and they dont know what to do when someone asks for a replacement part or its B.S and they are people who just couldnt spend the 5 minutes to get my order through

flag D-ponko (Feb 7, 2010 at 23:33)
so how would it work if not even one of there frames has been brought back?
  • + 1
flag coralcorn (Feb 7, 2010 at 23:35)
 how would what work?
  • + 1
flag D-ponko (Feb 8, 2010 at 0:37)
so that means that not even 1 percent of owners had problems? so not even one broke? or am i just way off? I just can't tell because the welding on the top and bottom tube is covered. o hope the welds meet before the top tube.

there frames are strong as hell. the geometry might be a bit off and as you saw that one race they can be quite loud.. to be honest the linkage is the same as commencal with the dog bone.. I would prolly go with a commi over the chumba since there lighter and better geometry..

A boxxer on a chumba? Heeeeck no.

That thing deserves waaaay better. Proto dorado, 888's. Totems would fit if ya going the rockshox route.

boxxers are too "racy" for a chumba IMO. But heck whatever floats your boat. Personally I'd throw a shiver with a stainless axle on it. That thing would be a rocket.

ummmmm not so much. Its made to be a downhill racing bike.

Just like every other dh bike. A chumba still is capable of more serious free ride than others... hence me saying that.

Chumbas are known for strength. I know it. The riders know it. The same as my tomac mag 204. Sure it was designed for racing only, but it can handle anything you will ever throw at it.

Really a shame big mountain riders arent using chumbas as much as there is more potential with that companies than many others out there.

i agree with what he said.. chumba F5's have a .03% failiure rating. I am racing DH with it hence why i am using a boxxer world cup also the fact that it is very light

I'm sorry but I have no clue what that means. To me that says out of every 10000 frames, 3 break for one reason or another, it's just an arbitrary statistic. Do you know the failure rates of any other bikes?

Also, a Boxxer Team with WC internals will save you a couple hundos
