nice pic. i can see why he needed that tow in on the film, the little park of his is on a pretty steep hill... still awesome tho, loving the little grind rail on the way out!
this is a good picture and a unique line but overall i dont find it that amazing, and i cant believe how many people left comments saying this is nwd 9, cause honestly if you havent seen it yet or you've never heard of nwd you must not be too into biking.
dude wtf? hes a pro thats not fair. those guys get plenty of spotlight time everytime they do a vid or movie or demo. let the AMs heave their 15 minutes
correct me if im wrong, but pinkbike has no relationship with redbull. They're really not doing anything by advertising it if they're not partners. Plus, Ian Hylands is a very well known and respected photog, and this happens to be a great shot of one of my fave riders. That redbull tag is the last thing I think of when I see this photo. Are you saying I'd get pod in an awful photo if I had a redbull tag on my ramp?
coopers, you're totally right with that one. Chase is sponsored by Red Bull and they paid for to build the stunt, so of course their logo is on it. That's got nothing to do with why it was chosen as POD. For the record Aaron uploaded this, not me, I just saw it for the first time now. It's what almost 2 years later?
My comment was more against the people calling for it to be POD, just a bit of a stupid adolescent stab at the fan boys really, a few years on and a little bit wiser I retract my statement, this is a well lit sharp image, still not a fan of the composition thought. Not saying I can do better just saying really.
no worries, people are free to their opinions and comments on Pink Bike, as long as they're not just negative slashing and flaming. There wasn't a lot of room for other composition, I'm standing just to the side of the run in and hoping not to get hit by Aaron or the winch line. I also shot it with a sequence in mind.
fair play mate. there all factors that come into play, I'm yet to get to a point were getting in the way of a pro rider or a film crew? would be one of those factors. I appreciate your responses, its all good to know
anyway your right no need for flaming anyone's work, I must of been having a bad day
URRRRRRRRRRRRR no. thats not how it goes he clearly says: "So, hey hauk (some wierd name) i need tons of speed like, like this BRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMM BRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMM" and also you r the 3rd or 4th person to quote this!!!
That power-winch BS was some of the stupidest sh!t i've seen in a bike flick (aside from "the claw" jumping his bike into a lake in the winter with a wetsuit on) Does anybody know the meaning of the word "contrived"?
Not really that impressed, but it is very nice. Not saying that my pics are better, but this pic is nothing crazy to me. i am sure if i saw ians other work i would be impressed.
