You guys probably don't care but its called a "bucket wheel excavator" and their known as the worlds largest wheeled vehicles weighing in at 11,000 tons, 100 meters tall, and 200 meters long. Their mostly used for mining coal sand where quantity goes over quality. Each one takes about 5-years to build and they can mine upwards of 240,000 cubic meters of coal sand each day. I'm in grad school for Mechanical Engineering and I did a report last year about these machines. The only reason they move these machines over large distances is to get them to new mines (once the old ones have been spent). The process for moving them is an engineering marval in and of itself given the huge amount of planning and people involved. Obviously I'm interested by this stuff so I thought I'd share some knowledge.
