no matter how much ice you put on it to strengthen it up, konas will always find a way to crack.

Wouldn't the hydraulic fluid in the brake lines expand and damage things?
  • + 0
flag william4269 (Jan 29, 2009 at 18:12)
no. i have hydro brakes on my snowmobile and they dont freeze. also there dot 4 fluid.
  • + 0
flag clay123 (Mar 15, 2009 at 14:31)
surely the fluid will decrease in mass cause its getting colder not hotter?
  • + 1
flag eddiethekid (Apr 5, 2009 at 14:24)
fluid generally increases in mass...or sorry volume when chilled to freezing point
  • + 3
flag dlec84 (Apr 7, 2009 at 9:17)
In a given compound.. as the temperature decreases, the density increases as the molecules become more closely packed. As density increases, the volume of the fluid would decrease, assuming the mass of the material remains constant. It would depend on the water content in the lines though, as water is the exception to this rule, and actually expands when it freezes due to its molecular structure.
