I don't understand why so many BMXers don't like - just wear a helmet - is it that difficult? Oh... its a personal preference (a sentence as common as Emo saying that nobody undersands him/her) - its exactly the same thing as driving with or without seat belts -> as well as there are idiots riding without helmets (and even bigger idiots promoting this style in BMX magazines) saying its a personal preference, there are idiots driving without seat belts saying that its dangerous cuz U might get burned alive in case of an accident - brilliant!

Are you gay? It is a personal preference. And wearing a helmet for some BMXers is a distraction, I'm a BMXer myself, sometimes I'll wear a helmet, sometimes I won't. And your seatbelt example was horrible, Because what if someone crashes into a lake, and is wearing a seatbelt and can't unstrap himself? He'll drown. If he wasn't wearing a seat belt at least he'd have that little bit more TIME and CHANCE to make it out alive. And by saying that I'm not saying its safer to not wear a helmet, but most bmxers who aren't wearing helmets are more aware of what they're doing and more focused. And even if they do crash, they sure as hell will be ready to suffer the consequence of not wearing one, you have no right to judge people because they wear or don't wear helmets.

God damn u ppl... I wrote about this stupid personal preference argument and U keep on repeating it! It is not a personal preference to get a brain trauma, for the kids that are watching U ride without it. U cannot take responsibility for kids that will crash without a helmet! They see PROs in the magazines riding without it and U my friend ride without it just because U see pros riding without it - because this is the attitude created in UR BMX culture - U don't wear it in 90% because of pressure of UR social group. As simple as that. U are being played around like babies with all these magazines and companies like Etnies, Element, burton wha'eva - just show a 13yr old a movie and he will do anything to look like his idol - independent underground, keep it real... yea eat the crap and pretend its real. WEAR A DAMN HELMET, EVEN WHEN GOING TO BUY MILK IN GROCERY FEW BLOCKS AWAY FROM HOME!

Way to stereotype every BMX rider ever, Waki. But thats false, not every BMX rider doesnt wear a helmet because were being "played around." It really is personal choice. I CHOOSE not to wear one when im doing the same old same old. But when im trying new shit I CHOOSE to wear one. The pros even wear one when they are doing new stuff. So just let it go, you cannot change the world by saying "wear a helmet."
