wait, single speed wheel? All you need is like a cheap adapter kit. It just has a sprocket and some spacers you put on instead of a cassette. You prob need a chain tensioner too but that might come with the kit.

all you need to do is go to velopro and buy the single speed kit there. it comes with all you need to run single. and i would take off the front brake.

well my wheels are shit so i might as well save weight aswell and just get a single speed hub and either build my own wheel or order a single speed wheel complate, and yes i will take off front brake once that is done, in the meantime there is no reason to take off front brake

wow are you like blind or something, he needs a new wheel anyways and singlespeed which will obviously decreease the weight cause no cassete and more hub, and also he needs both brakes right now cause he does trails right now. did i kinda spell it out enough for you there???

I think were just saying if money is a concern theres much cheaper ways to go single speed.

its not that he only wants singlespeed its just he needs to wheels so why not get a singlepeed build anyways

duh. But if he wanted to lose a lot of weight and go single speed in the meantime he could for less than prob $40. And unless the wheels are falling apart after every ride or weigh 10 lbs a piece you really dont need new wheels.
