Frame project i developed last Fall. 4130 or stainless steel, 8 of rear travel, 16 chainstays and progressive leverage rate. The model's just a suspension layout so not much detail, no axles, no gussets or brake mounts were represented.

Auto Desk inventor is incredible.. i use that.

I have acess to 2 free student licenses of Inventor, but I still prefer SW. I'd say Inventor is easier to learn though.

just notive about the seatpost tube goes....well,goes to no where cause its the spring in the middle of it ...?!?!?!

Yeah, the seat tube is not supported. I just worked on the rear suspension of this frame, didn't really developed a front triangle. A classic delta style front triangle (like cannondale gemini) would make the trick. This frame would be buttery smooth over small rocks but really progressive on big drops, thanks to the falling leverage rate. But the leverage curve is too steep so the bike wouldn't keep up with rock gardens, because there would be not enough force to compress the rear shock past mid travel.

you should look into getting some streamline tubing like i use and you can route them between the swingarm and the shock up to the seat tube and it will be plenty strong. http://aedmotorsport.com/4130/Streamline.htm I personally use the .980 X .44 inch with a .035 inch wall. Great stuff. Saved my ass. Check out some of my frames especially the new one. Ive gotten the technique of routing pretty down.

It could work in this case, the problem being get them bent to the right curvature. I'm kinda looking forward to new designs, this one faced major clearance issues on the bb area. Guess it showed me the difference between doing a sketch of lines to study the motion, and making an actual 3D model.

well what I do to bend them is cut a slit in one half of the pipe and bend it over and weld along where you cut. It takes a little guess and check work but it comes out nice and strong. Bigger and better things though man. Youve got the right idea.
