i passed the offer to him, looks like he'd rather just take the cash for his mtb and build up a really nice hardtail instead

is there any play side to side in the swing arm? also does the rear derr still shift or is it completely trashed.
  • 0 0
no lateral play in the swingarm, and the rear derailleur still shifts, although the cage is a bit chewed up as stated in the ad.
  • 0 0
let me elaborate - it still shifts reasonably well because i have tuned it.

holt shit this has to be one of the sickedt deals ive seen on pinkbike. its like a savings of 1000 bucks
  • 0 0
Sick bike but what is that ugly DJ2 doing on there its like against nature.
  • 0 0
haha, it might be ugly but it's amazingly plush, steepens the headtube angle for quicker steering and handling. of course it's user preference, but it sure is trendy! people can always buy the bike, sell off the fork and get something with longer travel like a junior t or even a fox 36 talas

Doesn't it feel weird with only 100 mm in the front and 143 mm in the back?
  • 0 0
at first, then you get used to it. but yeah he was always considering an adjustable travel pike
  • 0 0
i'd like to see a few pics of the pivotal system and the rear suspension up close. Thanks
  • 0 0
pivotal system? do you mean the single pivot?
  • 0 0
yeah tht single pivot. I wanna see if the rear suspension points are worn down pretty bad. THanks

lol, not at all man. frame's almost new, the bearings are sealed so even if i took a super macro picture you wouldn't see anything there, i can get him to take a pic and post it if you really want to though.
  • 0 0
yeah i'd like a pic just in case, but I'm glad to hear its all in good shape
  • 0 0
well the frame, shock and boxguide are good as new... the rest is from a donor bike (derailleur and front brake problems listed in the ad)
  • 0 0
ignore that.. sorry, i just looked at the subject line of the add.. argh.. 2006
  • 0 0
the rear shock looks short... how much rear travel??
  • 0 0
 140mm - 5.5 inches rear travel
  • 0 0
oops, it's actually 143mm of travel = 5.63" of rear travel.

How long has he had the bike?
  • 0 1
2004 p3 was his brother's, who only did tiny little unionville forest dirt jumps with it. then went to him, he bought a new 06 heckler and rode it at blue a few times, realized it wasn't his thing and a street bike would be a lot more useable esp. with me and another close friend building up street bikes.

he's never done spins on it, lol, no crashes other than the occasional fall off his bike @ blue sliding out. solid tank of a bike!

realistically the frame has only seen a season of light use, MAX.
  • 0 0
How much travel does the fork have?
  • 0 0
100mm, but because it's not a crappy new marzo, this one feels amazingly plush, i'd say it's as good as my pike except stiffer, stronger and heavier.
  • 0 0
hey check out my new bmx? trade?
  • 0 0
 sorry, nope
  • 0 0
did you take a look at the bmxes that i replied with above?
  • 0 0
hey would u trade for a dirtjumper
  • 0 0
don't know, because your dj bike is pretty heavy
  • 0 0
 aha ok thx
  • 0 0
Why a Pike over a Talas?
  • 0 0
only reason to choose a pike over a talas would be the price, lol. if money was no option then the talas 36 would be the perfect soulmate to the heckler..

 trade for bmx
  • 0 0
sorry that bmx is way too ghetto, something like these would be more appropriate for trade consideration:

  • 0 0
it's not better, from what i can see in your photo album. there aren't even any specs to go by...
  • 0 0
 thats nice.
  • 0 0
 what year is the bike?
  • 1 0
he'd rather sell for cash. he wants to build a high end mtb... microdrive, pivotal, something like my bike.
