in the u.s. at least... all of the items that are in police lockup eventualy get sold at police auctions if a owner is not found within a year(i believe). thats how i bought my first dyno when i was like 10. the stuff cant sit in lockup forever.

I had my rocky mtn switch stolen when it was six months old. six months later I got a call from the Arvada police saying they had found it. if your bike is stolen, turn in the serial # to as many police stations as you can. thats the only way for them to get it back to you. The guy who stole mine was being investigated for murder! they then found about 100 grand worth of stolen property, guy had about half as much as this a-hole. keep your serial # written down and be sure to turn it in if your bike comes up missing.
