ouch must have hurt
so where is the waterfall?? i dont see one, p.s. that is a sweet crash, at least you got a cool looking photo out of it
well no shit man. i have only been told 50 times. anyways, i friked this gap up the moment i left the lip and all i could think was oh shit, and then let go.
your totally right about that, but the problem is when your hitting a freakn huge gap and gonna eat it all you can think is, "Oh Shit." You dont really think that well under pressure like that. I will try do that next time though.
but it doesnt really work on a mtb cuz the mass of the rear wheel is too small compared to the weight of the bike.
It wouldnt have worked in my situation though. After I left the lip my back end began to fall really fast. Pulling my rear brake wouldnt have helped me, but I am pretty sure it does help to level your bike when hitting decent sized gaps. If you dont think it works pull your brake mid air next time.
and you can't just pull the brake and keep your knees locked, you have to bring the bike up as it moves, just like a bunnyhop.

Anybody who hits big shit can clear this. I should have been able to pull this gap off. My body just reacted differently to what I wanted to happen, I guess you could call the pull up a uncontrollable reaction.

I heard the bike you were on wouldn't have even taken the landing. Maybe it's a good thing you hit the eject button. Imgaine landing this and your bike breaks. Way worse situation cause you don't expect the outcome.
What are you talking about? Its a freeride bike. Do you think Rockymountain would make a freeride bike that could take that. So the gap is long. That doesnt mean its any harder on the bike than a 20 foot drop. The thought of the bike exploding is ludacris. You have got to be kidding me. Mountain bikes are tested thousands of times before they are manufactured, and the abuse they give them in the test shops is greater than what a human could do....ever.
I guess you've never seen a bike break. I have. Lot's of em'. I'm 31 and have ridden for 10 years now. I have friends who have busted RMX's and i've snapped the rear end off a Devinci 8-Flat-8. This year my 08 shore's rear end cracked while i was on a rocky wall ride. Bikes break. it's a fact. Go to whistler and you'll see tons of busted rigs. The older the rig, the higher chance of it snapping due to metal fatigue. I don't want to see you get hurt dude.

I heard about that also. I was up there on the weekend and met a famous trail builder up there. We were talking about how thoughtless someone would have to be to try something that big with such lacking equipment. I'm not saying it can't be done, i'm just saying it's not worth risking it.

the back brake thing doesnt work so good on mt bikes imo. ive done it in motocross since i was a little kid and always catch myself doing it on a mt bike but it doesnt seem to do much

The pressure on the fork and head tube would have been so bad if I landed with that angle that one of them would have gotten really f*cked up. Or maybe cause me worse injury. Like if the fork snapped off.
You ejected, I did not... My bad, and the reason for the brocken Femur, hip, shoulder...etc.. lol Good on ya though. Props.

not a chance. to much fork slap. could have snapped the fork or head tube. this thing is f*cking huge adn the impact would have been capable of that type of damage.
