thats an interesting fork/frame combo
im not sure if its a good idea
u get long travel hardtails which i think is wrong but hey everyones diff
so i suppose this would be better than a long travel hardtail
so good for the likes of urban dh

yeah. a bigger suspension bike should go with the boxxers. but being as the sx is light it could be a good dh bike. maybe
Well if you think about it, if you increase travel on the front of the bike, it decreases headtube angle so it is more suited for downhill. The bike has a steeper HA with a lower travel fork, so if anything, him putting the boxxers on his bike will make it ride better.
i have a feeling its not a 5 inch travel sx. i think its a SX trail, like bigger travel one with the custom paint for a factory rider.
It's not custom painted people, look at the SX frame for 09 But it does have only 4.2" of travel... assuming the frame isn't set custom.

k guys, this is the SX Trail, 6 inch bike, custom paint job, etc, as for the fork i have no clue why he is running a 200mm fork on that thing.
Thanks you! and its a 2010 boxxer. which shows he is sponsored and that he can get his hands on things normal pinkbike kids cant. such as a custom sx trail frame
No. Look at the rear link, it is red, that is the color they use on the all the SX models, not the SX trail. Who would go through the trouble of getting a part re-anodized?
ur an idiot you couldnt fit a dhx 5.0 on the 4 inch sx model, that is a sx trail, custom painted for that factory rider.
Yes you could fit a 5.0 , can you not see the picture? It is the SX model. And if you read the post right below this one I have typed you will see that he is not a factory rider. It is not custom, he just rode a SX with a 2010 boxxer so he could get a better pedaling bike. If you knew about fontana you would know that it has big flat sections, so having a bike with a good pedaling platform will help you a lot, hence why he rode the bike he rode.
from the number plate it looks like 23A, that would then be Ryan Strang.. So not a factory rider I would think

its definately a custom bike cuz ya it is the 09 sx paint job but even so its the same paint theres no way a rider like that would run a boxer on such a small travel bike its definately the sx trail unless somebody can honestly prove its an sx which is just a 4x bike and would be crazy with dual crown forks
It makes sense. If you increase the travel in the front of the bike that decreases headtube angles. So that would make that frame more suited for downhill racing. People have done similar things with transition bottle rockets as well. And the frame is just the normal 09 SX, not the trail version. I don't believe the SXtrail comes in this color, the SXtrail has the same design but in a darker greyish color.
if it made so much sense how come you dont see guys like steve peat and sam hill running bikes setup like that....the bottlerocket is way better off with a boxxer than an sx. plus im sure you could get a coil shock for the sx but it comes stock with an air shock
