i cant see how that skinny bit would handle high impact say if you were to do a sprocket stall and slide off or miss.

THIS IS NOT GOING TO SNAP. It is stronger than most designs. The bent plate section is FAR thicker than any tube on any bike. PLUS, all of the welds in this area are extra long by design...
