The Hammerschmidt is so that you can have a two speed without a derailleur.

Yeah, but still rad. The Hammerschmidt has a virtual 22/36 gear ratio, so that'd be a cool combo.

I guess it could slip through the net on a build as high spec'ed as this Big Grin.

I think The Hammerschmidt is great. too expensive for me tho, but real nice bike

Hammerschmidt would be a lot cooler to me if they made a special shifter that could actuate both the rear derailleur and the dual drive front setup from one side. Seeing two shifters on a handlebar still looks lame to me.

i think the hammershmidt crank is pointless, you are still running and extra cable to the back and also i probley weighs just as much, or more then a rear derailer. just my 2cents

How can you compare the weight of the Hammershmidt to the weight of a rear derailleur? The Hammershmidt is a front shifting system.

Hope Moto's.

Actually I don't think they're Moto V2s, since they require that you use the V2 vented rotors, and this guy's running Avid rotors. V2 rotors are 1.5mm thicker than normal rotors.

They look like motos to me.
  • + 1
flag seraph (Nov 3, 2009 at 23:13)
They may be Moto levers with Mini, M4, or M6 calipers. After all much like Shimano and Avid, every Hope lever is compatible with every Hope caliper. If they are indeed Motos, then I doubt they will work very well with those rotors, considering the difference in thickness between the Avid G2 Cleansweep and Moto V2s.

They're Moto levers with Code calipers.

That would explain the rotors...
  • + 1
flag seraph (Nov 4, 2009 at 18:59)
Well it would, except that Hope levers are not compatible with Avid calipers, mainly because they have different fittings and use different kinds of fluid.
  • + 1
flag reilly (Nov 4, 2009 at 19:47)
That's what I though but this guy found out how to.
  • + 1
flag seraph (Nov 4, 2009 at 20:13)
Ah that's jury rigged then. Like he said it might work all right, but it has absolutely no modulation. This is most likely due to the fact that the Hope levers use a different amount of force to move the fluid through the lines than the Avid levers do, most likely more in this case.
