I raced that day with Nate. Ian took some sick pics that day. raybao is right though, this trail cannot be comprehended through a lens, you just need to ride/ hike it. Gnar-gnar with some extra gnar on top.
5th out of 5! haha. But consider that it was my 3rd time down the trail on my 02 stinky with a 66 fork and I was the only racer running a single crown. But the race is part of a local series that I am trying to do well in so 5th place points was all I was looking for. I'm 3rd overall so far.
The sky came out of camera dark. I underexposed 1 stop and wanted flash to fill rider. The flash didn't fire so I had to expose rider with RAW file and then I just left the sky underexposed in this version. The original I posted was equally exposed through the whole image. Blending mode and layers. Nothing too complex in PS!
I was out there shooting pictures that day too, unfortunately my D60 doesn't produce anything like this. All the people who are giving this picture crap probably aren't even capable of riding the trail that this was taken on. its crazy. If you want to see a movie that doesn't really do justice to it watch the first scene of chain smoke two with Richard Landcaster.
Bollucks, your D60 is perfectly capable of producing an image... composition is all about you.
But finding good angles on this trail is a royal pain in the ass
Thanks all. Yes I liked that shot and got lucky that day with clouds. DINGA here UK sorry this is the tech CA DH! Here is a vid. Via helicopter because walking with a video camera is just to hard!
Yeah, if there's no backflip-to-barspin-to-360 action going on, then it's obviously not POD-worthy...I guess. I think that is an awesome shot, regardless what discipline you follow.
Hahaha - we all forget to "carry the one" on the trails sometimes. It's the lost skill of bailing from the bike that separates the bruised from the broken!
