i disagree, im an amateur, if i attemped that i would crash 100% of the time. its incredible the skill an the guts this guy as
1. Any amateur can not do this, this is one of the more technical POD's there is. If you want to prove you can do this go to a skatepark and try riding a big bowl with your fully, tell us how it goes. 2. If this is not POD worthy in your opinion what is? 50% of the time it's a DH rider on a berm, and i'm pretty sure ANY amateur can do that.
ya your a retard half the time its considered a pod is because of the photography skills even if it was a dh rider going through a berm, and the physics are nothing like a bowl were you dropped on your head?
Go up to Nelson and do it bud, and it's just like a bowl. Pull ignorant head out of your ass and take a look at bowl, if your were to air over the corner of a bowl it would be identical but still not nearly as technical.
To do this jump you have to pull back and hip at least a ten foot gap, it takes more than a little skill to do this. I'm sure that Mike Kinrad (a pro rider) would make a original and creative jump such as this one and film makers don't like to waste money, they wouldn't waste money on a rider if he wasn't highly skilled and wasn't going to go big and stylish. And this photo shows a perfect example of what a POD should be with maybe a bit better camera work.

I agree with you NorthwestShredSesh, This stunt is cool but not worthy of POD.However I'm not convinced that an amateur can do it.

Dont get me wrong, I think this is a great picture but I know Im not alone when I say that there are tons of photos that deserve the 24 hours of fame over this one.

When you get to the level of someone like Kinrade, do you think that you are still "better" turning or hipping to one side or is it pretty much immaterial? I can't even go left at all (I guess I am like Zoolander) so that photo is all the more impressive to me... but maybe he had it built special for a left handed turner-hipper??? whaddya think? Whose got mad skills out tehre and can tell me the answer?
That isn't a hip really, it's more just a crazy 3D 180 thing, less connected with hipping skill than those you'd use to 360. In any case, it's in the direction which should be easier for him.
He's riding right foot forward, so that would be the most comfortable way to table/hip. A lot of guys can do it both ways but it feels different with the rear foot on the top side. Some hit things switch-footed for that reason.

it appears to me that he was all most to late on his landing. I mean look at the landing ramp... its huge. He should have launched the thing. But hey I would have wrecked just trying to get from one ramp to the other. So this guy is way better than me.

Not to be a bitch (That's awesome and I couldn't do it) but Ronnie Renner (Nitro Circus) does that 50 feet high or something. That's a sick stunt and we need more creative shit like that
