Couple things, big help that one of the Canadian distributors flew them over instead of shipped and more than anything a great lbs in Eastside Cycle. Told them I wanted a WC like Sept of last year and they did the rest.

They are Hope floating rotors, those vented ones weigh a million pounds.

Not quite. The carrier (the black middle section) is aluminum to keep the weight down. The steel outer rotor is held into place by 6 joints that let the rotor expand and contract without warping.

The aluminum spider is such a good idea. Can you elaborate on the expand and contracting part? Yeah, the rotor heats up can stuff, but I never understood how those 6 joints helped it from warping.

They just have some play in them to let the steel move on its own when different sections of the rotor heat up more than others. By having some give they have a greater tendency of returning to their initial shape.
