During the 1920's and 1930's prohibition was trying to get in the act. It was a law that was trying to get passed, because it would ban the distributing and transporting of alcohol. Many broke the law after the prohibtion act was made. There was a whole lot of bootlegging going on and many illegal doings. Gangsters were very much involved with the prohibition, because they were the ones running all of the bootlegging and were the owners of many of the saloons, nightclubs, etc. One of the most famous of the
gangsters was Al Capone.
