I can't understand why they don't wear at least the minimal body protection... some back protectors are so light and so well vented that you don't feel them at all (i.e. Dainese).

well I don't want to sound like an a*hole but your belief seems like this gangsta attitude: UR not a real Do' unless U go to jail - well when they go there and get sodomized, then get back to tha streets pretending to be tha man - I don't think it makes them tough guys. So you can crash, then pee with blood and get a 5mm thick drenage through Ur wee wee (man I was shredding I crashed, broke 7 ribs, pelvis and got the kidney removed - the doctor said I was pretty lucky - that's what I'm talking about: hardcore!)- I don't think it makes you a real downhiller. If you want to be "a real downhiller" perhaps you need to stand on top of couple of podiums... and body protection increases that chance as the injuries decreases the time you can practice...
