So is this trail running through the "meadow" out to 1 mile? Did you know there used to be a horse race track out there in the early 1930's or 40's? If you go up Cow mountain and look down to the meadow you can faintly see the outline of it around moose island. The vegetation grows differently where the track used to be. Useless knowledge aquired whil living in Wells for 18 years

Yes, you're right.... the trail goes through the meadows.... I'm building bridges there right now.
I've heard about the race track, but never really noticed it...
O.K., off to your mom's restaurant for coffee ;-) and then out on the trails.
