really? you would think that they would overheat super easily and have no stopping power, but I guess I can't say that for sure until I try them on some DH

They have piles of power and I never once had an over heating or brake fade issue even with top to bottom Garbo runs.

Yeah XTR brakes are the shit. I had them on the Cowan and have them now on my Blur 4X. Tons of stopping power.

dude, take out the DOPE system, and have a non floating break youll save like 2 lbs, but might feel wird with the breaking forces
