I went to the gym and did tris and shoulders a few days after I broke my fibula. The crutches are just cardio lol.
The SX as it sits weighs in at 34.45 pounds (without the minion, I have a front fat albert on now). Im ordering some SLX cranks and sunline V-one bars tomorrow though which will put it in the low 33s!
yeah v1's are sweet. did you get some of the colored series? i have been debating trying to order a pair of the red ones, as i am ordering red goodridge hoses... how much are the slx?
Nah I decided to just go with the dark grey ones. I think the blue ones would look cheesy. I ordered all my parts off universalcycles.com, and they have SLX cranks for $240 american. I was able to get them to price match them down to $178 american.
yeah, the blue would be a bit much. simple schemes with a frame like that look good. the slx with the dark charcoal color will look good as well. i had a zip tie break on my sx at the rear brake cable where it goes next to the tire, and i am thinking of ordering in a set of the red goodridge hoses...
I think silver hoses would look really clean on your bike. Theyd match your cranks and the designs in the frame.
i never actually looked at your bikes. i hate to say this but dude you have built up some sick bikes. i like the mob with holzfellers too thats supersick. how does that lyric feel? when the time comes ima build a 6" bike and that fork is a contender.
Thanks. The SX has a front Fat albert on it now, and will have SLX cranks and sunline V-ones by monday. And the holzfellers were nice but I wanted to run a smaller gear ratio, so my friend sold me those deity cranks for $50. 25-12 setup is perfect now.
The lyrik is right up there with the 36 in my opinion. Motion control lets you tune the fork to any type of riding you want. It soaks up all the small bumps while not being sloppy at the same time. Rockshox also has much much better warrenty compared to Fox, and I find they dont need to be serviced as often. I service my lyrik myself when it comes to changing the oil and what not, its really straight forward. When it comes time to building up a 6" bike, DEFINETELY go out and ride a lyrik. Like I said, I know its marketed as an all-mountain fork, but its basically a 36... on crack.

well they look sick. i dont like 36's verymuch they feel shity. all mountain fork my ass, those are better than tallas's more beefy. ya dude sunline is the shit i want to get full v1 stuff on my session but its spendy. you should get the vone pedals if you dond have them already i heard they were sick.
oh i was also wondering, what is the big difference between the session linkage and the stinky linkage, i know they are different but im not sure how lol. if i get a good answer out of you ill add you as a friend lol.

Well actually the 36 line-up is more beefy then the lyrik. The lyrik only has 35mm stantions compared to the 36mm of fox's line-up. Yea, sunline really does make quality parts. I'm running wellgo MG-1s and they are one of the lightest pedals out there though. I love the design and they weigh next to nothing so they are staying for now.
When it comes to linkages on both bikes, both bikes are single pivots. They both have suspension bob when it comes to pedalling and both have brake jack under braking... But it all depends on where the pivot is placed on the frame. Let me try to explain...
If the pivot is placed on the BB, there is NO chain growth BUT it pedals like shit and it will snag on every square edge bump. The higher the BB, the less pedal bob, better reaction to square edge bumps, BUT lots of chain growth and pedal feedback. The lower the bb less chain growth, less pedal feedback, BUT worse reaction to square edge bumps, and more pedal bob. The more foward the pivot the more stable the bike will feel, the straighter the axle path but it will feel sluggish and will not jump well. The further back the pivot the more nimble the bike will feel, but it will have a more curved axle path.
As you can see, there are a TON of variables that make the two frames different. Though both are single pivots, theres still all these things to consider. Take a look at Orange for example. Most (or all I think?) of their DH bikes are single pivot BUT tons of people run them because they feel very good.

haha thats a good answer. those orange bikes look like shit tho haha. well what you said makes sense that would explain why the stinkys travel is a little more stiff and mine pedals well but has hella chain growth but takes square edges good. i think im going to make this simple for my self, FSR owns every thing because its awesome lol.

My condolences... I broke my wrist the day my new pinscher frame arrived last summer. It sucks, but you'll be back in no time. Work on your upper back and arms while you're hobbling around- you'll get back in the swing of things faster that way.
