Actually it's because the product is used and he expects people to pay new retail for a used product. I don't care if he never rode it....he bought it....he opened it....it's now used and only worth half of retail.

You're actually quite wrong. Retail is $1800. He's asking $1100, which is MORE than a fair price. Used? It's clearly new in the box. When you buy something, it does not instantly drop 50%. If this was the case, that .243 you're trying to sell would be worth about $50.
