it takes lots of balls and skill to do what sam hill does too,you would shit yer pants going that fast down a narrow trail steep as f*ck and jagged rocks everywhere.but oviosuly bender was skilled i mean i dont know how it started he had no skill,hes landed tons of drops most riders wouldnt consider,he crashed on this one,but no one else will do it and if they did they would probably not get hurt they would die! so bender was a test dummy for us and he always was and still is skilled and no one will match his cappability.

Very well said, not to mention he did flip is like..massive Karpeil. Not even on a conventional dirtjump he did it on more of kicker type jump in the middle of a desert. He also has landed many drops and was a huge progression for our sport.

i think the no skill thing started because in NWD 3 (i think) he has his own section, when it came to drops there was no one else but bender who would do it, but when he did DH he was very crap, also in NWD 3 when he tries to style off a drop he crashes. i have respect for him because my balls are about the size of peas compared to his gigantuous space hopper sized balls.

HIRIG, if you cant bottom a fork that means you cant use a certain amount of travel, and thats not travel at all, so nothing is unbottomable..

man! u CAN bottom, if u set it up that way! and u can use all the travel, it may bottom, but not like that hard when it blows, only the last 1-2cm is slowed down by the HSCV High-Speed-Compression-Valve and u can disable this,for bottoming if u like,but thats not brilliant...

well theres one younger user here who is a massive fan of Bender! This guy showed the way, big mountain riding like this is proper freeride, not the manicured dirt jumps and timber features that seem to dominate the "freeride" competitions. I find benders riding incredible, and ok he couldnt do some of the super complex tricks that many riders are doing today, but if you asked many of the pros today to hit that drop i'm not sure how many volunteers there would be. just my two cents, but personally I think Bender was a huge influence on the sport and was a great rider. Salute
