nice bike
does he ride CC? look at the seat post!!! flat bars, high seatposts... where s DH goin? Apart from that very nice bike props to Nico...
It's a 19 degree rise Carbon Monkey lite bar, standard DH. However yes, he does ride with his seat a little high, but thats his style,
the seat post is up for when he is not standing, he doesn't have to sit so low down while he pedals. better pedaling efficiency. the bars aren't flat, just low rise and wide.
Yes, and watching him hit the corners like a high speed roller coaster ride, I think it helps save his legs under compression in the corners too. His bike is set up perfect, I rode it around for a bit..
Haha this pic seriously makes him look like a professor I know. Would be pretty cool if my prof had a double life and was actually a ripper too
. How old is Nicho now?
Expert work with a black marker on his Maxxis tyres, Michelin won't be too happy.
However, insane bike with the G.O.A.T...

For the kids:
This guy just won the Downhill Mountain Bike World Championship ten times, as a junior in 1992, 1993 and 1994 and as main in 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001 and 2002 (2000 had a flat tire). He also won sixteen World cup Downhill races. The Cup he won five times (1995, 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2000). Avalanche VTT he won in 1994 and 1995.

What do you mean, 'flat bars and high seatpost'? The bars are NOT flat and the seat height on HIS CUSTOM bike tells me he has ample standover height to move around on the bike and ride like the legend he is. Also, it's nice to have your seat at a decent height to maximize your leg power in tuck and sprint sections. Check out Peaty's bikes, from his days on Orange to Santa Cruz, and you'll notice that he runs a similar seat height and we all know how much Peaty likes to tuck and pedal and I'd say his record speaks for itself. It's all a matter of having a bike that fits you properly and allows you to maximize every advantage when you focus on the fundamentals of riding and racing, fundamentals that guys like Peaty and Nico will never forget.
I did not mean it is a bad thing... I just find it curios how it changes... many guys ride a high seat because of peaty... not because it feels better...
Nothing's really changed, though. The guys who know, have their bike setup optimal for their riding style and capabilities. The guys who don't, have a bike that doesn't fit and a slammed seatpost so there's less power being put to the cranks when they try and tuck and sprint because their knees are topping out by their ears on every stroke, lol! To me, it's the same old, same old. You have pros and you have posers. I happen to be a poser who wishes he could ride like a pro, lol.
thank God,,, at one point in my life I had a signature Lapierre black dh by this guy! Love lapierre,,, super light bikes!
Most guys run their seats too low. Unless you're a midget you don't need to slam it down all the way. Its better to have a little post showing.
