Any word as to why the rear shock has been flipped from previous years?

Yup, the good ol' sprung vs unsprung weight in suspension actuation. This way you need less weight to activate the suspension 'cause you're directly pushing on the dampin rod instead of having to move the whole canister down. The less energy and weight you need to activate the suspension, the plushier the bike is on small impacts and bumps Smile
