that river looks f*cked
dont you have to take multiple images to do a hdr? surly that will make it a realy tricky edit to mix all that, no? or do i not get the concept of hdr
u can shoot in raw and change the exposures on the computer then blend them together turns out the same
doesnt look hdr. to get the water effect, use a tri pod, bump your ISO down as low as it will go, set your aperture to about 22, and your exposure at atleast a second or longer.
Skawt not that I have tried or can remember seeing but I reckon you could hdr a shot like that. Because the water is so blurred it might work, reduce ghosting affects might also be needed.
Or just take a raw, simples.
Plus hdr can be used not only to give that classic weird affect but instead increase the realistic look of a shoot. I wouldnt be surprised if there was some subtle tone mapping done.

HDR imagery is an image with at least a 12 stop range. SLRs unfortunately dont have the potential to produce that depth in tone so therefore the technique involved is called 'tone mapping' or LDRi (Low dynamic range imagery). Our eyes are great examples of how huge tonal depths can be balanced
But yes true HDR is comprised of multiple images at multiple exposures, only it would have a much wider range. LDR can be achieved via a single RAW format exposure or a couple of frames at say -2EV, -1EV, 0EV, +1EV, +2EV. Theres been a whole load of media hype making any shot with the slightest (and usually too much) tone mapping considered an HDR image, but its simply now true :-/
