thats a really nice bike, congrats
yeah thanks man, I havn't even had it on the trail yet and its already day and night compared to the stinky.
Yeah, had it up a fortune for its first go yesterday. Takes some getting used to, but it corners superlow, and responds so much better to everything at high speeds, i love it.
Its amazing. First thing you notice is its just more sensitive and adjustments really work well. One of my favorite thing is how it bottoms, on the fox DHX5 it is rough and abrupt, but when the elka bottoms it is alot softer and it doesn't shoot right back up, but rebounds the way it should.
MSRP is $2990, around the same price as alot of other high end frames. (comes stock with a BOS rear shock)
well im getting a new frame, and this one was on the list.so i asked you how much.but then i figured i could just go get it on there website. thats why i asked
This is pretty handy, gives you prices and a quike way to look and many products.

dude sweet morewood. how much was the elka? your description above kinda made me want to get one. also, where did you get the fender?
Elka is around 500$ CAD with steel coil, and they are custom tuned just for you and your bike. As for the fender it is stock on the bike, but you can use an old inner-tube on most bikes, or get a 'crud guard'
hey thats actually not that bad. i would like to try an RC4 though. i went on elka's website and was pretty lost because there werent any prices. how do you make a rear fender out of inner tubes? i know how to make the front fender but quite dont follow how it works. i mean, doesnt the mud hit your face before the fender catches it?
You don't really need a rear fender by the looks of it, just keeps mud off your shock. As for the inner-tube on the front, its only so you don't get a huge build up of mud on the bike.
where does the mud build up? doesnt the gunk flick on your downtube/face/bike? or does it prevent it from shooting out? im so lost haha. and yeah i need a fender mainly to protect me and my rear shock. i think my rear shock needs a service. it feels fine but sounds like its gasping for air at every stroke. there isnt much mud where i live because i live in the desert, but theres a LOT of dust
Yeah, it came stock with a BOS stoy. But the Elka just feels so nice... i don't think they ever wil, but I would love to see elka come out with a fork.
No, unfortunately not. But in the area here Elka is getting big cause the are from the local area (4-6 hours away). I know several racers that actually switched to them from a Cane Creek Double Barrel. SO the shock is mint.
