Because they're not worth the money? I've got a full hubset and a seat for the price of what I sold it for. Makes way more sense to me.

Well if you can't get 36 of the same length spoke, it doesn't really matter. Chances are you'll need a few different sizes anyways. Straight flanges are over-rated. Plus some people like having play in their hubs. I mean it's not rocket surgery.
