I used my dads fishing scales and it weighed 34.8ld without pedals. That's with inner tubes, heavy tyres and steel rear shock spring though so could be lighter.

A bike like that really needs a Ti spring Wink

Yeh, there are just a little out of price range... I'm 6ft4" and need a slightly heavier spring (i think 550lb) so the spring is around £200. I have put maxxis minion 2.5 tubeless tyres on since this pic which has made it alot lighter.

How can anything be out of your price range if you've just spent 5 or 6 grand on that thing!

a Ti spring i feel is unnecessary, however, if anybody has a 550ld Ti spring for sale i can pay around £100.

you don't really need to save any more weight it would be a bit pointless 34.8 lbs is actually quite light for a dh bike mine with only 6 inch travel is 50 lbs so you might aswell save the cash

wouldnt ur rim bend with like no spokes?

flag scotlanddownhill (Oct 31, 2009 at 10:44)
i hope not. The wheels should actually be stronger because there are no holes in the rims.

i always thought the more the spokes the stronger

I thought so aswell, them seem pretty strong to me - we will have to wait and see what a full season does to them. They come with a 3 year warranty.
