I meant have they been sprayed gloss black, instead of the normal matte when i said 'custom' Rolleyes

They look well nice with the gloss black and the Black and Silver decal.

Nice Job! tup

I'd be curious what your opinion is of those wheels... I'm really trying to figure out to do for a set of hoops for my 951, to wait for the set you have, buy DEEMAX, or build up some HOPE IIs and 823s.

I realy like the opium wheels. I have done a fair amount of rides down the fort William world cup downhill track and my local track (dunkeld) and they are holding just fine. I also fitted new ust minions last week and they were a breeze to fit. I do like the deemax's but I kept nocking the spokes out of the rear wheel so I got the fr2350's which realy were made of cheese. There are new racelite deemax's coming out next year in the bright yellow again which would prob be the only wheels I would think about changing the opiums for. Across here you can build 823's to hope pro II's for around £320 which are great wheels but a big price difference from the opiums.

Opium Weight
• Front/Rear - 956g / 1106g

Deemax Weight
Front: 1010g Rear: 1150 g
the choice is easy..................

so any news on how your wheels are doing... theres no reviews out there for them and I'm kind of curious to see how they are going to last. Your the only one I notice is riding them so if you dont mind how about an update after a month or so of riding?

The opium wheels are still running perfect, though to be honest I haven’t really been out to many times on them in the last month as I have been decorating my sons bedroom, however, my local track (Dunkeld) is basically a rock garden from top to bottom.
I have owned 2007 deemax’s and 2008 FR2350’s both are great racing wheels but neither stood up to the beating that an every day rider inflicts. If I rode my deemax’s at Dunkeld for one day there would be at least three spokes out of the rear wheel which would have rubbed all the paint of the hubs, however, they would at least be in one piece. My Fr2350’s were the most disappointing wheels I have ever owned – I wont even bother explaining.
I must say that after riding the fort william world cup track and taking countless beatings at dunkeld the opiums are still perfect except a few scratches. The spokes are still tight as hell, there are no dents on the rims and the ratchet system within the hub is still by far the best and quickest I have ever ridden. The other thing about these rims is how easily I managed (the first time I have ever tried) to set up tubeless tyres. I managed to set up the tyres within about 3 minutes each wheel using just a track pump. I haven’t even needed to put any more air in them since I set them up last month. Overall: I’m very impressed.
