4 wheel drive means 4 wheels power the vehicle, all wheel drive mean all wheels of the vehicle are powered
AWD isn't the same as 4WD.
AWD = all 4 wheels drive the car all the time. NO turning it off
4WD = you can flick a switch, shift, etc to go from 2WD into 4WD!

Actually there's different types of AWD. The main distinction is that 4WD you can choose to turn on/off and AWD is always on, sometimes as constant four wheel power, but other systems are adaptive and have all power flowing to rear wheels until needed elsewhere to keep the car in check.(think evo/sti/Audi R8.)
and the lame subaru outbacks are FWD until they slip, then they become AWD. even though it claims to be AWD all the time. suck balls at drifting on snow or gravel, very much fixed with WRX version.
doesnt matter the truck that is built for muddiing is clean the car that isnt built to get muddy is end of story
STi isnt meant to get muddy? watch more rally races....
and the truck... It was build by some pansy ass 5'5" dude with a small wiener who wants to be taller than others for a change.

A Viper is meant to go fast, a STi is meant to race on and off road. Subaru built the impreza specifically for rally racing back in 95 when Colin McRae won his first national title.

that was what my sti looked like yesterday until i took it to the carwash and discusted people with how dirty it was lol
4wd= two wheels spinning at all time (witch ever wheel is the easyest to spin unless u have a locker)
awd= all wheels moving at all time
awd= all wheels moving at all time
no you're wrong. you're talking about differential locks. Just because a car calls itself "AWD" instead of "4WD" doesn't mean it has locked differentials.
