  • + 3
flag joexspocent92 (Aug 20, 2009 at 19:31)
his shifter, so he can shift while doing tail whips and x ups without the cord tangling everywhere

so thats the thing which changes gear for him?
  • + 7
flag seraph (Aug 21, 2009 at 9:48)
Yes, it's a Shimano Saint M810 trigger shifter bolted to his water bottle mounts on the top of his downtube. Pretty simple.

flag STINKY-MINTY-1 (Aug 24, 2009 at 14:06)
joesepocent92 why does he need to shift while doing tailwhips and x ups and actually he wouldnt because to shift you need to pedal and to tailwhip you need to hole onto he barsand the bike would be spinning anyway

flag joexspocent92 (Aug 27, 2009 at 21:49)
well, i think one cable is better than two cables getting all tangled up. i think sram did something with his cable though like putting it through the headset maybe? i saw a prototype picture of something like that. shifting and pedaling dont always have to go together. you can shift, then pedal to make a shift

flag seraph (Aug 27, 2009 at 22:43)
He doesn't use SRAM, he uses Shimano.

flag windowlicker (Aug 27, 2009 at 22:58)
Check it. I know there he is using a saint shifter and probably a different bracket, but same idea.

flag joexspocent92 (Aug 28, 2009 at 0:26)
oh wait. crap! i was thinking about brandon semenuk. he uses the same method too.

flag Mazekwon (Sep 25, 2009 at 11:58)
yeah, i dunno if anyone else does it too but when they land, hit there triggers and shift gears unintentionally, that would put an end to that.

flag dustingilding (Dec 13, 2009 at 13:22)
ok people, if you have an ounce of common knowledge here then listen, Cam has a hydro gyro, which means he can spin his bar infinite times without his brake cables geting tangled. now, if you keep the shitfter on the bars, there is now a cable to get tangled, defeating the purpose of a gyro all together. when riding slope you rarely need to shift, in fact almost never, so having it on the downtube is no big deal.

flag seraph (Dec 13, 2009 at 13:31)
It is more similar to the new 2010 Remedy frame than the 2009 model, but it has custom geometry and less than 150mm of travel.
