do u like it better than the norco?
  • + 1
flag SICK-biker (Aug 28, 2009 at 16:20)
ahha what a question, of course i like it better than the norco, its a completely different frame and the geo is much nicer, but i have to say the norco was not too bad, this is just no comparison as it is a top of the line frame

flag zzirGrizz (Aug 28, 2009 at 16:24)
so i guess you like this one better than the specialized haha

flag SICK-biker (Aug 28, 2009 at 16:25)

Looks like you need to shorten your chain. Other than that it looks fast!
  • + 1
flag SICK-biker (Aug 28, 2009 at 17:20)
yea well if i take another link out of the chain, the wheel rubs agains the frame while rotating, so i will either to get a thinner tire so that the tire doesnt rub against the frame when there is one less link, or i will take out a link and put in a single half link so that i dont have to switch tires to get better tension on the chain
  • + 1
flag seraph (Aug 28, 2009 at 17:27)
I would go with the half link method.
  • + 1
flag SICK-biker (Aug 28, 2009 at 17:29)
yea, well i may need to get a new tire soon anyways, but i like it 2.1 rear, dont wanna go any skinnier so i will get a half link
  • + 1
flag seraph (Aug 28, 2009 at 18:24)
Yeah you definitely shouldn't go any smaller than 2.1, just do the half link.

Get a new tire and put the small block eight in the front.
Riding a skinny tire in the back isnt as bad as you think.
ps.. Small block eights are acually larger than what it says on the tire.
example 2.1 = 2.35 because of the tread patern. so a 1.85 would be a 2.1.

nice! Someone else said it too, but shorten that chain
  • + 1
flag SICK-biker (Aug 28, 2009 at 20:16)
yes, i knew i was gonna get shit for having some slack on the chain, i will get a half link, but i just wanted to get it rideable today so i did it up and rode around. rides fine but wont be slack for long

flag brandonf (Aug 28, 2009 at 20:20)
you probably need to take out at least two links. Make it as slammed as possible. Thats how I like my dob at least

flag SICK-biker (Aug 28, 2009 at 20:22)
nahh, if i take out a whole link, the tire rubs against the chainstays with perfect tension, so i will need a half link and i dont mind sacrificing a couple metres of chainstay length

flag brandonf (Aug 28, 2009 at 20:23)
what size of sb8 is that? my 1.95 sb8 gives me no problems at all with clearance
  • + 1
flag SICK-biker (Aug 28, 2009 at 20:27)
that is a 2.1 SB8 sir, im sure 1.95 would have no problems, but i like the 2.1 rear, it almost works with one link less, but i would rather ride a 2.1 with a minimally longer chainstay. maybe one day when i feel adventureous (sp?) i will try out a 1.95

flag SICK-biker (Oct 25, 2009 at 17:33)
yeaa im not sure what the exact weight is but they are damn light, all of my parts are pretty light, without really sacrificing any strength to save weight, so i am pretty happy with the build
