This linkage is a single-pivot with an extra link to keep things compact.

How the suspension works: The main swing arm is one piece that rotates about the bottom bracket. It has a rocker that pivots about the seatpost and the main swing arm. As the main swing arm goes through it's radius it causes the rocker to rotate clockwise (in this photo) which compresses the shock... I have drawn a quick paint picture that may show this, although it is rather crude...
