hey man, my mc40 build is almost done! (not as good as yours though) i'm posting some complete pics on saturday if you're interested?
also, what do the two valves on the shock do? obviously one is the spring rate/compresseion but what is the other? i assume the red knob is rebound?

How much was it. Has it got any hydraulic parts on aka brakes or suspension

Full build would be £3000 and yes the brakes are hayes stroker trails and the front and rear shocks are air sprung with travel adjustment and remote controlled lockout tup

I rode hardtails for years before this bike, they can handle much more than you expect, but i am noticeably quicker round the trail on this bike rather than my old kinesis

Hes getting a 2009 GT Avalanche 1.0 . Any advice?

tell him to ride the hell out of it! but on tech advice i'd say to take the bike from halfords and to get it built properly by a good bike shop, trust me the amount of GT's and carreras i have to fix because of the halfords "mechanic" setting it up wrong is astonishing

Lol were getting our bikes from a little private bike shop. We are going to check all of the nutsnbolts because my brother got his moto fro their and we had to tighten the bolts. Still its our favourite and local bike shop.
