1.5" ?
  • + 2
flag jaredhtop (Sep 6, 2009 at 16:53)
just looks huge.
  • + 3
flag SICK-biker (Sep 6, 2009 at 16:55)
yea that can't be 1 1/8th, but 1.5 is not bad it will keep it strong up front, looks like a very solid frame, just wait till martin is ripping it up with one of these! should be seeing him riding this frame soon, can't wait

flag crs-one (Sep 6, 2009 at 19:50)
1.5" HT means you can run a zerostack headset, getting the front end lower and steeper, which when combined with big barz means more t-down room. And it looks a lot cleaner.

flag blah12325 (Sep 6, 2009 at 20:12)
where the f*ck u get these pictures?

flag jaredhtop (Sep 6, 2009 at 20:13)
eurobike. I found them on some random forum website. I only found 2 other pics. One of the new NS fixie. I figure i'll give someone else a chance. And the 2010 rotary (already uploaded)

Oh hell yea, how much travel? I would like to get one.

flag keith24mtb (Sep 7, 2009 at 8:29)
crs-one, t-down room? turndown?
  • + 0
flag crs-one (Sep 7, 2009 at 8:41)
ye. those t-downs. Was just a guess. I don't know why people like low forks and high bars but a 1.5" headtube and zero-stack headset is a step in that direction.
  • + 0
flag blah12325 (Sep 7, 2009 at 8:45)
lamacycles has all the 2010 stuff on there except the soda frame...and the analog frame/fork haha...which makes me lol.
they really stepped up their game this year!~
  • - 1
flag keith24mtb (Sep 7, 2009 at 8:48)
a zero stack headset would bring the bars down too tho, idiot.
  • + 1
flag blah12325 (Sep 7, 2009 at 8:49)
zero stack headset on a 1.5?
plz show me haha
  • + 1
flag crs-one (Sep 7, 2009 at 8:50)
Thanks for that, Einstein. It drops the headtube lower which steepens the head angle and gives more top tube room for turndowns when you put higher bars on.
  • - 4
flag keith24mtb (Sep 7, 2009 at 14:16) (Below Threshold) show comment
steepening the head angle doesn't mean that it steepens it on the frame. bringing the bars further from the top tube, just means steeper on the geo, get it right. zero stack headsets on a frame as high as this aren't the right direction to go if you want nice turndowns, and yes, i do know what i'm talking about.
  • + 1
flag crs-one (Sep 7, 2009 at 14:17)
So...the headtube rotates itself? Bullshit. Steepening the head angle in this case drops the top tube. I don't give a shit about turndowns, it was an example. Now you're just not making sense.

I kinda reallly want this one guys!..
  • + 1
flag matthew13sanderson (Sep 17, 2009 at 17:13)
so what now? NS, Dobermann or black market?
  • + 1
flag keenanbikes (Sep 17, 2009 at 18:59)
Ns for the win blk mrkt is over rated and doberman is my second pick
  • + 0
flag dancharge (Sep 20, 2009 at 3:38)
tbh i recon the dobermann soft tail looks alot better and more well desighned but the ns is good as well they just got to sort some things out on it but its there first try so well done
  • + 2
flag blah12325 (Sep 20, 2009 at 8:57)
how are you gonna run ss on this....
blackmarket and dobermann have a bb pivoting system but this dont haha
  • + 2
flag nextchase (Sep 20, 2009 at 16:23)
1 huge flaw in the design that i can see so far is the problems with running single speed. the shock pivot is not around the bottom bracket.

quite the way to judge if you are buying one. I'll try and find out to see what size.

Only problem with 1.5 is that there isn't a very large selection of forks.
  • + 3
flag pdurand (Sep 6, 2009 at 19:21)
Ns is making spacers so u can run 1an1 8 steer tubes
  • + 1
flag LegoBikerGamer (Sep 6, 2009 at 19:52)
you can run any 1 1/8th headtube on a 1 1/5th. most headsets have spacers you put in. for example i run a 1.8th boxxer team on a bike with a 1.5 headtube. all i needed was a special spacer to bring the FSA pig headset small enough for the fork.
  • - 2
flag benjamindoucett (Sep 7, 2009 at 4:42)
What the hell is a 1 1/5?

Oh ya, let's just negative prop me for stating a fact.
  • + 3
flag WAKIdesigns (Sep 17, 2009 at 4:38)
When U have a 1.5 head tube U can fit any fork U want, either via spacers, or just a headset with reduction cups. The best thing with 1.5 HT is that there is a bigger welding area what basicaly means that the critical down tube area close to HT in 1.5 will be always stronger than in 1, 1/8". The only downside of this standard is that it's hard to get a good 1.5 stem at a reasonable price - but that's the relict of the past, as nowadays we have tapered tubes which are absolutely flawless...

LegoBikerGamer (Sep 6, 2009 at 19:52)
you can run any 1 1/8th headtube on a 1 1/5th.

yeah wtf is 1 1/5 lol
  • - 1
flag benjamindoucett (Sep 21, 2009 at 13:19)
I know what 1.5 is, but there is no such thing as 1 1/5.
  • - 1
flag LegoBikerGamer (Sep 21, 2009 at 15:41)
the correct terminology is 1 1/5th. as in 1 inch and 1/5th of an inch. though peoples shorten it too 1.5 and 1.8. if you get a ruler out 1.8 is bigger then 1.5, when on bikes, its the opposite.
  • + 2
flag WAKIdesigns (Sep 21, 2009 at 15:47)
hurray for the maths. 1 1/5th"=1.2" and nobody has ever heard of a steerer diameter like that. The standard is 1 1/8th"=1.125". Nobody shortens anything to 1.5 with steerer diameters, that is a 1 inch and a half 1.5 number which relates to a size of 1 and a half inch steerer, as simple as that... Boys boys boys...

flag WAKIdesigns (Sep 21, 2009 at 15:52)
few more replies like that an I switch back to Eric Cartman mode...
  • + 2
flag matthew13sanderson (Sep 21, 2009 at 16:53)
1.5 is an inch and a half which is 8/16.

1-1/8 is an inch and 2/16.

flag moleman (Sep 7, 2009 at 9:01)
Pretty sweet, but if they want to get in with the compition (Blk Mrkt, Dartmoor and Dob), then they should have put the pivot around the BB IMO.

flag keith24mtb (Sep 7, 2009 at 15:36)

flag callumm (Sep 14, 2009 at 6:21)

  • + 1
flag moleman (Sep 14, 2009 at 8:12)
For a Slopestyle, DJ bike?... I don't think so.
  • + 1
flag WAKIdesigns (Sep 17, 2009 at 4:51)
agreed, but at the same time this solution is cheaper. I'm sure they will develop BB pivot soon, but the only reason for doing so is the single speed compatibility. Every other aspect of BB pivot sucks comparing to regular pivot location.
  • + 0
flag dingus (Sep 17, 2009 at 5:37)
Having the pivot there will give a better axel path than a BB pivot.

im likin the style, but the head tube is a lil short for my likings.....they should build a couple diferent bikes up like this to show wat the frame looks like with diferent parts, considering its a brand new model n they wanna get it out there

flag Phil-rides-a-bike (Sep 18, 2009 at 1:35)
no its great they have a fully now, everyone wants a bit of travel sometime and it'l be great for their team riders needing a bike for the big slopestyle courses these days i.e. Soderstrom had to ride was it a Cove? at this years Crankworx to be able to make it through the course. I'l bet this will be just as dialled as the NS hardtails just with that extra little bit of travel

No, its a single pivot.
  • + 1
flag Luseboy (Sep 19, 2009 at 21:22)
ya, i saw that after i posted... but that top link looks similar to a lower link on a mojo. and it looks kinda like it has a lower link, but i looked at it again, and saw that it didnt.
  • + 1
flag dingus (Sep 20, 2009 at 2:30)
Yeah, I think the top links are to stiffen the swingarm.
  • + 1
flag Luseboy (Sep 20, 2009 at 12:42)
ya probably. that would make sense, as its a ss bike... i think in a ss bike, the suspension is really only there to soften up the big hits.
