Love it!
sorry, but I'm going to be the one that bitches about todays POD. the edit is absolute crap and the picture isn't that good either. the jump is wicked but I'm not sure if that qualifies to be POD. there's a lot better our there.
^^^^yeah i dont like it since the scenery is...ummm...dirt!!!!! and the focus is pretty wack!!! and i absolutly dont care bout neg props so bring them all
IT not Gaussian blur or any kind of PS effect. Its a tilt/shift lens that creates a very shallow depth of field even at distance which creates the illusion of a different perspective. The only thing this photo can be accused of is good composition. Props dude.
THAT'S THE POINT! IT'S NOT A FOCUS LENS!
it was a picture taken on a little digital camera that someone edited til they thought it looked good.

mtnbker395, it's pretty obvious that you didn't read the rest of the comments explaining how this look was achieved. The focus effect wasn't added later in Photoshop. It's fine if you don't like the look but it really shows your ignorance of photography when you talk about things you don't understand. And hey, you're entitled to your opinion, even if it's wrong... Ha!
It's actually the focus, from a tilt-shift lens. definetly gives photos a unique perspective forsure though
I don't think there was actually a large amount of photoshoping, maybe just a bit of contrast and the sepia effect.
There's not a ton of processing on this shot. I use Adobe Lightroom and just converted to grayscale, upped some contrast channels and added the split sepia/cyan toning.
Tilt shift faking most likely. You take the photo overlooking the scene for best results then blur the sides or front/back of the photo using Photoshop to remove scale reference. Pretty cool effect IMO.
Sorry guys, It was shot with a Nikon 85mm perspective control tilt/shift lens. No Photoshop fakery was needed. Not every photo you see is faked...
yesterday we had a black white pic but that doesn't matter I love zimmermann pics especially this one! great
the monotone is good, the riding is epic but the Photoshoped blur is gay. i dont think its worth picture of the day because the blur just ruins the picture.
my bad, it was actually taken with a tilt-shift lens, however I still dont really like the effect created here.
That's all good man. Glad you figured out the effect wasn't faked though. Some people dig it, some don't.

Sorry guys, the tilt shift wasn't faked. It was done with a proper tilt shift lens. No worries though, the effect isn't for everyone.
See, now THIS is a better POD than that nac grab that was on here a few days ago! Same concept, but a better/bigger trick and the scenery seems better .
I think the landing is at Vancouver International, flight number one arriving at gate 3, non-stop from Whistler.

Sick photo, never seen a tilt shift used vertically like that and not sure I like it as much as when used with the bands horizontal, but it's a sick picture all the same. Props dude.
The takeoff is right next to the dude on the right and the knuckle of the landing is at the top of the Monster banner. Just keeping you guessing... Ha!

My bad... I see the take off now. At first I thought the bike was just pasted into the picture. I would have liked it better without the annoying unfocused sections, but it's still a good picture.
