I hate everything about it. The look, the feel, the way it works. It's just not for me. Just not my preference.

Well, the Saint is the only DH specific mech and it is pretty damn bombproof, the X-0 is an over priced high maintenance XC mech that is made of plastic. You decide..
haha i get your point never nnew they were xc mecks learn sumic new ever day
dose like sam hill and the speshalized team snap loads

I disagree mate
I bent my demos rear hanger must of been a nast impact, my X.9 was fine
dispite the impact it had taken, true it might not of been full stress on the mech but it still with stood an impact that bent a reinforced hangar, there were serious marks on the hanger true be told but no snappage no bendage and basicly no lack in performance as far as the mech is conserned, X.0 are shit if u ask me but for the price and performance of an X.9 u cant go wrong if u ask me, maybe the x.9 is stronger than the X.0 now that realy would start some debate ! !

Sounds like your hanger done it's job perfectly. No hanger should ever be 'reinforced', they are there to absorb impact forces which would otherwise smash your mech. Most of the bent or snapped mech hangers I've seen have a perfectly usable mech (whether it be SRAM, Shimano or Campagnolo) still attached because the hanger has done the job it was designed to do. Most of the smashed mechs I've seen have got caught in the spokes and that's what's mangled them, not the initial impact. All I'm saying is that SRAM tend to use softer materials for more of the mech than Shimano.
I've ran my red one for 4 or 5 years now n its still ok?!
oh and doesn't a certain world champ use them too?!!
oh and doesn't a certain world champ use them too?!!
lol its hard to think of many who dont run them, but seriouly they go through them like horney birds get thou dildo batteries : )
Hey Mike, hanging it up and polishing it in the garage for 5 years doesn't count! lol! World Champions are told what to use by cold hard cash, it doesn't matter if they like it or not. I've been to his house and he'll clearly sell to the highest bidder to keep up mortgage payments on that crib of his. Oh, and doesn't a certain South African multiple world and world cup champ use Avids but hates them and really misses the Formulas he had on his Honda? Or am I simply sticking to the truth avoiding the hype by giving that example..?
can safely say that the X.9 is a good mec, plenty of gnar gashes no snappage, very seriouly the X.9 is better than X.0 for value
Ha I forgot that I need to bow down too you're superior knowledge of all things mtb! lol! I will however just say that I'm pretty sure Shimano do not support W/cup DH events, so would that not be a factor in choosing a sponsor that is gonna be there when you blow one up?!
Each to there own matey, I've preferred sram for a long time but if ud rather stick it in the brown hole over than the pink then that's you're prerogative?!!!!
