amazing!
close. major changes were made. The Hone was a platform to build on because of the concentric BB. That is the only thing the 2 bikes have in common.
Most companies nowadays seem to get frames out of a catalog and just make minor changes. Doesn't mean it's not a cool rig.
I'd love to see one with ss and rear brake only, as concentric seems like overkill with gears.

The geometry is quite a bit different, check out the Hones geo here http://shop.cycletaiwan.com/images/stories/tank/7S-6SC-43-tank-hone.pdf
comparably; The Waza has a 67 HA compared to the tanks 69.8
71 SA to 72.8
Most of the other geometry is also different.
The Waza has an adjustable wheelbase from 43.5 to 45,3 - with the concentric bb you don't need to run a tensioner, the tank has vertical drop outs - so no adjustable wheelbase and you need to run a tensioner.
The design around the bb and dropouts is quite different between the bikes.
Just because two bikes look similar, it doesn't mean that they are.

not too sure I can. The bike was originally designed for slope style but we raced it 4X all year on the mountain states cup and we are thinking of dropping the travel to 135mm which will allow it to sprint a bit better.
The problem comes back to the concentric bb if you're talking about lowering the travel. A standard 4-bar linkage is going to work better on a 4X bike than a 4-bar w/concentric (better pedaling efficiency, better brake force handling, etc). You'd be better off making a concentric 4" travel slopestyle/dj/street specific frame similar to the Cowan DS, rather than trying to market a concentric frame for 4X.
this bike uses a "faux bar" just like the cowan and the BASS. We don't want to pay the huge $ to Specialized for a 4=bar license (Kona feels the same way) and hell if that was the case we wouldn't even bother making the bike and tell everyone to go buy a big S! We didn't make the Wakizashi for 4X, it just happens to rail corners REALLY good so it makes a good bike for it if you want to do it up on a full sus. Our Tanto is our true DS/4X bike but is a hard tail. It and the Waki have the same geometry.
Yeah, I know it's using the faux-bar. It's a glorified single pivot. Remember how Kona made the Howler as their DS/4X bike? They did so because a non-concentric bb suspension design is better-suited for use on the track. I had a Cowan set up for 4X/slalom and it didn't work terribly well. What it did do was enable me to set it up singlespeed and treat it like a more forgiving street bike.
Seraph, settle down. It seems like every picture I see of a Wakazashi, you've already left a few comments complaining about it. Just think for a second: No one is forcing you to ride this bike. As long as you don't buy it, you will never have to worry about a single one of your complaints. Oneghost isn't a company claiming to make the be-all end-all mountain bike here. They make sick bikes that fit niches in the market, areas that can only benefit from more innovation and another competitor.
So don't worry. Don't buy one. Quit complaining, or at the very least, limit yourself to PM's, noteboards, forums or just one photo. It's just disheartening to click on a photo and see you ragging on a small company.

I'm not complaining, I'm commenting. It's a free country, I can comment on anything I want. One of the main points of this site is to comment on photos. That's what I'm doing. I am merely offering my thoughts on the bike based on my knowledge from having owned over 40 bikes in the past 10 years.
Just because you can, doesn't mean it's not annoying as f*ck. All I know is if it were my bike, I would appreciate silence more than angry sounding "constructive critisism", no matter how many bikes the kid has owned. I tried to stay out of it, but you post something on every f*cking photograph of this bike.
