yu dnt need horizontal dropouts f you get the right tension and the gear ratio`s are

34-16
32-14
30-12 or 28-12 on scott voltage frames well thats mine ethier of them
25-9

im rumming 36-14 and its working fine, got a lil chain strech but nothing major
