I am no fan of manitou, but have nothign against the darado's other than they don't really suit the bike.

flag timmy00 (Sep 23, 2009 at 12:44)
epicbiker maybe you prefer fox forks, but some of the manitou forks are really good - for example travis triple intrinsic or nixon super intrinsic - lightweight and quite strong fork with smooth work.

i test rode one at crankworx on an m6 and it felt really nice, but i would rather have a 40

I thought this was the new demo at first. Very smart of Banshee to copy specialized's theory of having the shock driven by the chainstay, as opposed to the seatstay, and then having a rocker link between the seatpost and the seatstay. It's similar to the demo, but withouth the FSR pivot. It looks like this bike would have a nice low center of gravity, and a really stiff rear end. I also like the low standover height, and the slack angles. Very nice Banshee, very nice.

It has a virtual pivot.

Dude this is nothing like fsr... its actually very similar to VPP by Santa Cruz, but the top link is horizontal as opposed to vertical.

I believe we have a misunderstanding here. I know my suspension designs. I never said the suspension on this bike was like FSR. It's similar to the Demo due to the fact that the shock is driven off of the chainstay, instead of the seatstay. Actually, in my original post I mentioned the lack of an FSR Pivot. What I meant was that this bike looks similar, and shares the chainstay driven shock that the demo has. I realize the suspension works completely differently. I thought it was a linkage driven single pivot until I read diroc's comment. When I took a closer look at the more detailed pictures on here, I saw the one that clearly shows the lower link, which makes this a virtual pivot bike. I like it.

I'm sorry but after seeing the new yeti this thing looks like franken bike or throwback to 2000.
