no its a ratchet drive system not a gear box ive seen one and i have read about them in dirt magazine

it evidently isnt a gear box considering the amount of cogs on the rear hub.

It's not a gear box, it's called a jackshaft. The chain runs from the cranks, on the left hand side, up to a sprocket that it on a shaft that travels through the bike's main pivot. On the other end is another sprocket which the right hand chain runs around and back to the rear derailleur. Awesome system that pedals extremely well through anything. Pedaling has basically no affect on the suspension

This muthahuckin' bike is thee best bike money can't buy (quite yet.)

I have wet dreams about riding this bike at Wharncliffe. But ahhh sonofabitch, why do bikes have to be so damn expensive?!
