please tell me thats a take off..
well i guess sorta both but was built intentionally as a downhill line but just with big stuff in it, so far we have scraped out the line in which will go into a large setup jump for this road gap then after landing in berms round to another but bigger road gap after this. should be real nicce. its going to take most of the winter to get the line how we want but were pleased so far!
yeh man, you should be pretty stoked, cant wait to see somone hit that thing. heading to sand bay on saturday if your about. See you soon
its a new track up the mendips, it crosses the track next to christmas tree, this and a few other bits is the only things on it at the mo, its mine ans mates winter project. should be awsume!

No i dont think i will go up tomorrow as i have a bit of a throat infection and its got quite bad today, but went up and started the line into it, rebuilt the first berm which i like alot and seccond monster berm round the back still needs alot of work. But good days progress again!
hi guys
was just thinking about your monster jump, its good work and all, but i think the forestry might get funny about missing logs and also the hunting crew could use this as an excuse to be knobby and trust me they want any excuse. not sure if its a good idea. as much as i like big jumps it could be a problem.
don't mean to sound like a knob but you might want to think about possible consequences. at one point a while back at triscombe alot of the trails got mashed up by the forestry from over building jumps and wooden ladders. it started to get a bit out of hand up there even some uplifts with quad bikes and vans. some guys built quite a large kicker a bit bigger than yours and they used a lot of logs. they were not having it and smashed over jumps berms and took out a couple of lines. there are still wicked trails there but they are mainly naturals as possible with some decent jumps. this is a working forest and logs are worth quite a bit of money. i would suggest using logs that aren't stacked. harder work but less problems.
hope this is helpful.

We understand your concerns about the trails but we have thought about that too obviously we dont want the mendips to get shut down or just smashed to bits buy the loggers, we are planning to compleatly cover the logs in dirt when we get a chance to hide the logs. we are not going to stop digging as we have high hopes for this line which i hope you understand. also if they do get taken down i dont think they can stop people riding up the mendips even if its in a different place in the woods. which then were build again. pluss i dont know if you no that over the last two weeks people in a transit have been cooming up and stealing the logs from various piles across the woods.
we want the riding in the mendips to increase and this could be a good thing of it.
thankyou for your thoughts.

hello bettyman.
thanks for the reply.
having high hopes is cool, but you have to remember that these logs are someone's effort to make a living and taking them is not really cool. it may not look like not much but logs cost a lot of money. i have a small business and if some one stole from me it would hurt my business and my family.....
if my logs where taken i would be pissed off. missing a few is not to bad but several is a bit of a problem, and just because someone else steals logs doesn't mean its cool to do the same thing.
also safety is a concern on the trails and if some one gets properly hurt that is not cool thing. i know you guys like building and its very satisfying but we don't own theses woods and we need to be thoughtful of our actions. and yes they cant stop us riding but they can ruin a lot of hard work. several of us have been riding up there for a long time as we are getting a bit old now. probably riding there before your time. i love the fact you guys like building, its great, but you need to think about materials and other riders. are you going to actually hit this jump? one more point... we don't really need more people riding there. there are plenty of riding spots and too many people makes it like a bike park which it is not... people will come because its a beautiful place with wicked riding not because it has huge jumps., and in fact we don't have permission to be there in the first place. so it gets complicated. do what ever you want but remember your actions. also just thought the horse people are more than cool with us, but if lots of people came it would jeopardise there business as well and they have been there for ages. i don't like scarring the horse's as it could get someone well hurt. i hope this makes sense. keep biking
