no just full bike then replace stuff as it wears/breaks,the 09 models are about 8-900 for a not to badly specced bike with a 55r.

the 55r's ok then? I thought the 55's where pretty much a lost cause.

The fitting is ISCG05 for the chainguide and it comes with replaceable dropouts. Are you going to buy it?

should be ok shouldnt they, there stepped into the frame so some of the load is taken into the frame.

Yes, but the way the've been fitted is wrong, even if this would allow you to set up your own chainstay lenght. This is the reason why I did choose my Exalt ride over the Surge's in the end .

see i am baffeled because on most adjustable rears the bolt aint countersunk, there usually flat heads with a washer.

have you a pic of your dmr dropouts.

But you won't be able to adjust the chainstay's length. Another option is the Faction, but this is gonna set you back some £450 just for the frame. Take a look at this:

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/LargeImage.aspx?ModelID=41102

The only catch with this frame is it won't take as much front travel as the Surge, but I think it is a good thrasher for city like stuff. My favourite one though is the Sovereign. Have a look at it:

This is probably more down to what you're after (have a look at those dropouts). This frame will take up as much as 160mm in the front and make a nice hole in your pocket, beautiful though it is (I think it is like £600 just for the frame).

Drool at the sovereign but its well out of my budget,i might look at the 09 surge with standard dropouts.

BTW, the Exalt is only £220 if you know where to get it from.

Well, to be perfectly honest with you, it is out of my budget as well, so in the end I decided to make do with my Exalt ride, speaking of which, is no mean feat either. Have a look at this other one:

http://www.dialledbikes.com/products/mtb/alpine.html

This is a bit expensive as well, but cheaper than the last two anyway and I know it will do the job. For this year they won't give you as much adjustment for the TT, but apart from that, I think it is good value for money. Can you see how close it is to the Sovereign in terms of geometrics?
