haha wtf it takes alot to bottom a 40?

it depends what spring you have in it.. i can bottom my 40 off a curb with an extra soft spring in it but i wont do shit if i have the extra hard one in it..

Haha way to miss the downramp!

flag joexspocent92 (Oct 19, 2009 at 23:30)
yeah i agree with bunkey. fox 40s are super soft and super smooth because theyre more DH oriented. the 888 is hard to bottom if you have it set up properly with all that bottom out resistance

flag stryke (Oct 20, 2009 at 8:59)
40s are super soft if you make them super soft
888s are super soft if you make them super sofrt

40s are hard to bottom if you set them up that way
888s are hard to bottom if you set them up that way

do you see what im getting at?

flag bunkey (Oct 20, 2009 at 10:18)
generally 888's are progressive and 40's are linear. It depends how much adjustablity you have. 888 RC's for example have only low speed compression and rebound adjustment, so it'd be diffficult to set them up like a race fork.

Yea, i was just sitting on somebody's 224 evo with 40's on it and i was going about the car park and jumping about nd stuff and they are so smooth and plush Big Grin

flag MattyCatchy (Oct 20, 2009 at 11:11)
I can bottom my 40 out easier in the car park than on the dh run. They are made to be like that.

the new boxxer teams are hard to bottom out even even with a soft spring in them...

yeah. notice marzocchi says "freeride" a lot while fox racing shox says "racing" a lot. theyre different companies focusing on different types of riding. marzocchi also makes heavy (4 lbs) XC forks. thats their way of nature
